HOTEL FACILITIES & SERVICES:
O.K. so it can be warm in Fiji, but most of us can cope with this
and more one of the best workouts I know is a brisk walk
along the beach at Octopus (which is approximately 1 km in length).
You can try and run but your feet sink too far into the white sandy
beach!
If
you wish to do a little more than re-charge your batteries, we offer
a range of activities including sunset watching, cocktail drinking,
Church Service in the village, and did I mention the snorkelling?
...
you can participate... or not this is not Club Med and this
is not a Hi de hi Campers you must have fun - type of resort
the pace is slow and relaxed and you will not be organised
to exhaustion. You need to get into the local rhythm this
is not Eastern Standard Time or Greenwich Mean Time it's Fiji
time here at Octopus. Of
course you dont even need to take one single step off the
resort to be kept amused. We field a mean Volleyball team here at
Octopus, or if you prefer, petanque, board games or whatever you
choose to bring yourself. We have hammocks, over 300 books, swaying
palm trees and friendly staff who are always eager to meet new friends.
One
of the highlights for most of our guests in nothing anymore complicated
that the church service. On any given Sunday in the South Pacific
you will be lucky to find anything open. The whole world waits and
everybody gets dressed up and goes to church.
Round these parts Saturdays are spent fishing and preparing food,
so that after church on Sunday no food preparation needs to take
place. So if you wish, you can walk over the hill to Nalauwaki village
for the church service on Sundays and be prepared for a totally
uplifting (although all in Fijian of course) service and choir (everybody
in Fiji seems to be able to sing beautifully).
The kids arent forgotten at Octopus, Fijians are reknown around
the world for their love of children, and whether you want a babysitter
or someone to weave the kids a hat or pick them a coconut
our staff are only too happy to oblige.
Take
the kids to the village for a cultural experience they wont
forget in a hurry. With a playground like the Pacific Ocean and
our white sandy beach - playstations, computers and television
are soon a distant memory!
You and your children will be blown away by the relaxed atmosphere,
you wont believe how cluttered our lives have become and
you can almost see the stresses of modern living slipping off
their shoulders. Its a sight worth seeing their relaxed
exhaustion and the spontaneousness that you thought they left
behind in preschool.
