LOCATION:
The
Alcazar was established in the year 1973 by virtue of the efforts
of its owner, Mr. Younis Mahmoud. Alcazar now is a recognized member
of both the "Arab Hotel Association;" which includes 45
hotels in Jerusalem and the West Bank, and the "Israeli Hotel
Association;" which embraces the majority of hotels in Jerusalem
and Israel.
The
Alcazar is situated in Wadi El Joz, within easy walking distance
of the major and historical sites of the city. Particularly close
are the Garden of Gethsemane on the Mount Of Olives; The Rockefeller
Archaelogical Museum; the "Garden Tomb;" the Dome Of The
Rock; the Al Aqsa Mosque and Damascus Gate, through which you can
enter into the "Souk" (Market Place).

The
38 well-furnished rooms all have city-scape views, air conditioning
and central heating. Each room also has an en-suite bathroom/shower,
a color T.V (with satellite channels) and direct dial telephones. |

Since
its inception in 1973, the Alcazar has been noted for exceptional
service and extraordinary hospitality. A winner of Four elite
"Promoter of Tourism" awards in 1993, 1994, 1996,
and 1999
Alcazar proudly serves what has been billed by its patrons as
the best food you can get at any tourist institution in Jerusalem
and surrounding areas.
In 1993, Alcazar started a major renovation project that took
a total of three years. Now, after spending hundreds of thousands
of dollars, Alcazar has a brand new heating and cooling system,
a redesigned bar and state-of-the-art reception desk. The dining
room has undergone a face lift, as has the meeting room and
all hallways and lounge areas.
Enormous work has been done on the bedrooms, as well, from new
Simons beds to fresh sheets and bed spreads, to a complete overhaul
on utilities.
Further improvements are undergoing study at the present time.
The management plans to spend some time on a new rooftop dining
room, a bigger kitchen, and a number of minor projects that
will ultimately raise the level of the hotel by several notches.
