LOCATION:
Meeru
Island Resort, fondly known as Meeru by friends, offers a relaxing
casual atmosphere. A large island by local standards, much of the
island remains untouched, with its natural vegetation intact.
There are plenty of activities to be enjoyed at Meeru, but if it's
a little relaxation you crave, their are plenty of shady
beaches where you can take a casual stroll. Acknowledged as a bit
of diver's Mecca. Meeru is located right in the centre
of some of the best dive sites in the Maldives.Meeru maybe one of
the more remote islands in the North Atoll, but you'll
find everything you could want for a perfect beach holiday.
ACCOMMODATION:
We
offer a choice in the type of accommodation for your stay on
Meeru. All are comfortable and provides all the basic amenities.
However some provide more comforts than the others with more
space and privacy.
All the rooms are air-conditioned and equipped with ceiling
fan. All provide the convenience of en suite bathroom, IDD telephone
and mini fridge.
227 Rooms including 58 Standard, 118 Land Villas, 20 Jacuzzi
Villas, 29 Water Villas, and 2 Honeymoon Suites. Each room features
tropical décor, two twins, one queen or one king size bed, tile
or wood floors, private patio with furniture, air-conditioning,
overhead ceiling fan, sitting area, stocked Mini Bar with refrigerator,
tea/coffee maker, IDD telephone, personal safe, bathroom with
hot water, shower, bath accessories, hair dryer, and nightly
turndown service. Also provided is complimentary use of chaise
lounges at the pool and beach and beach towels. |

Honeymoon
Suites : We offer the ultimate hideaway for your honeymoon
here at Meeru. Two exclusive honeymoon suites located right
in the middle of the lagoon offer unmatched privacy. Separate
from the island and accessible only by a small boat, you will
never be disturbed by people passing by your room. It is the
splendid isolation you look for, for a very special honeymoon.
What's more, if you wish you can spend your entire holiday
inside and around your villa, without having to mix with any
of the other guests at the resort. Meals are served on request.
The luxury offered is unbeatable too. As you step in the door,
a cosy sitting area with kitchenette lies to one side.
A big comfy sofa and armchairs invite you to snuggle up and
listen to the music on the CD player. A stocked kitchenette
with bar, toaster, coffee/tea machine allows you to make yourself
the odd snack.
On the other side of the entranceway lies a dream bedroom
with big four poster, dressing table and wardrobe, and leading
off is a spacious bathroom with bathtub, WC and wash basin.
Clean white tiles with pine trim add a touch of class. All
the bungalows face the sea away from the island, and have
French windows leading on to a spacious sun deck and patio
overlooking the lagoon. No other people in sight. Watch the
fish swim underneath your bungalow at night, or step down
and join them for a moonlight swim.

Water
Villas : The Water Villas are set right on the edge of
the beach with entrance from the back of the chalet and a
private verandah facing the sea and over water sundeck leading
from it. Set on the eastern side of the island it is ideal
the rooms offer an excellent view of the sea accompanied by
the sound of waves crashing continually on the atoll reef
a kilometer away. For early risers these are ideally located
to view the golden sunrises each day.
And if you decide to cool down, steps from the sundeck lead
you right into the shallow waters.
Inside the pinewood lined rooms, a big comfortable cane bed
awaits at the end of the day, or if you want to relax before
turning in, a sitting area with armchairs and coffee table
are provided.
Enjoy the natural warmth of a wood floor underfoot. A discreet
white tiled, partially open bathroom where you can shower
next to a little garden, adds the final touch of style. .

Jacuzzi
Villas : Jacuzzi Villas are Land Villas with a private,
walled-in outdoor area “under the stars”, a Jacuzzi for two,
a wooden sundeck with chaise lounges, a shade Pavilion, a
small tropical garden, and a CD player in the room .

Meeru
Land Villas : These wooden chalets, all facing the beach
offers a degree of privacy; each room is an individual chalet.
The 138 chalets are laid out around the island, all facing
the beach, some pentagonal others rectangular. All have a
separate dressing area with luggage rack, wardrobe and dressing
table. The verandah in front of each furnished with deck chairs,
is ideal for relaxation or to catch up on your reading.
Inside, the chalet rooms are spacious and airy. A ceiling
fan whirrs gently, and the room has a sitting area by the
full window overlooking the verandah. A bed and side tables
with Tiffany-style reading lamps add a touch of class. The
en suite bathrooms are spacious and fully fitted and feature
an enclosed open-air garden

STANDARD
ROOMS : The standard rooms are for those who do not feel
the need to be pampered with additional comforts. These are
built in units of four or five but offer simple uncluttered
comfort inside. Set amidst lush tropical vegetation all 58
rooms are furnished with tropical cane furniture and the cool
tiled floor offer welcome respite at the end of a hot day.
All have verandas facing the beach. Twenty Six of the rooms
offer the luxury of an enclosed semi-open-air garden inside
the en suite bathrooms. All are fully tiled and fitted.

RESTAURANT:
The Hungaanu Coffee Shop, serving an all day dining menu;
The Asian Wok, specializing in Thai, Indian, Chinese and Maldivian
cuisine; the Hagern, serving a grilled seafood menu aboard
a “restaurant” yacht anchored in the lagoon; and two other
“optional” choices, Room Service, and a selection of very
special dinners served on the Beach!
The Dhoni Bar, located on the beach, beside the pool; the
Kakuni Bar, featuring sports bar facilities such as table
games and all day, color satellite TV coverage of international
sporting events; the Club 1919 Bar, aboard a yacht anchored
in the lagoon; the Beach Bar at the southern end of the island;
and a “bar cart” on wheels, providing a convenient service
to guests lounging along the beach.
No fuss dining, just good food is the order of the day at
Meeru. No dressing up to impress. Just stroll in from the
beach or from your room and sit down and enjoy. The only house
rule is, no wet suits or wet clothes are allowed in the dining
area.
There is one restaurant, two coffee shops and three bars where
you will find everything you want, and at all hours of the
day. So just continue to have fun and there'll be plenty of
food on offer just when you want it.
The Farivalhu Restaurant, the main dining room, with traditional
sand floor, serves “all you can eat” buffet style meals for
breakfast, lunch and dinner, for Meal Plan guests; and as
well, three “optional” a la carte restaurants -
