Sapporo
Grand Hotel opened in 1934 as a guesthouse for government officials
and businessmen and as a place for social interaction among citizens,
under a proposal of the late Imperial Prince Chichibu. It has been popular
as the first Western-style hotel in Hokkaido.
Situated in downtown Sapporo, it is easy access to business and sightseeing.
It is just 10 min. on foot from the JR Sapporo station, 5 min. on foot
from Odori station of subway line and 60 min. by car from Shin-Chitose
Airport.
ACCOMMODATION:
The
tradition of Sapporo Grand Hotel is evident in the Main Wing guest
rooms. The executive floor on the fourth floor is perfect for entertaining
important guests. There is also a superior floor on the eighth floor
highly recommended for extended stays.
The East Wing faces the main street in front of Sapporo Station
and the rows of trees that run along it. Mostly consisting of twin
bedrooms, it is ideal for group guests.
The Annex Wing faces Kita 1-Jo Dori which brings in plenty of sunlight,
creating a new refined atmosphere to the warm traditional service
which makes this hotel so special. This wing is recommended to guests
who visit Sapporo frequently.
