Spread out over a stunning 12 hectares of land, this sister hotel of The Sugar Beach and the adjoining La Pirogue is managed by the One & Only group. It consists of 16 villas, each containing 10 rooms, the Manor House and the central reception buildings.
The rooms are spacious and airy, a pendant to the hot colours of Mauritius. They all open onto a private patio or balcony, furnished with cane furniture. Beach villas are near the shore and offer uninterrupted views of the lagoon and setting sun. For families, rooms with two Queen-size beds or interconnecting rooms are available.

Various restaurants cater for the wellbeing of the guests. At the Mon Plaisir restaurant, you may have breakfast or lunch under the sun and dine under the stars. This main restaurant offers English and continental breakfast, a la carte and specialty lunches, elegant dinners or theme buffets with a Japanese chef at the open-cooking buffet. Citronella's café provides light snacks at lunchtime and a fine Mediterranean cuisine in the evenings.

The elegant establishment blends in perfectly with the colonial style of the resort. The Paul & Virginie Restaurant is located "next door", at La Pirogue. Its romantic thatched dining pavilions overhanging the large pool, the restaurant radiates a warm and intimate atmosphere. At lunchtime it proposes a selection of popular island cuisine, wood-fired pizzas, panini bread, salad and sandwiches. Dinner is more sophisticated with a variety of select seafood served with healthy stir-fries. The wine list includes a variety of South African and New World wines. Long trousers for gentlemen are requested in the evenings. For your nightly entertainment, there are plenty of nice places such as the Plantation bar which offers poolside snacks at lunchtime, traditional tea at 5pm and specialty cocktails & entertainment in the evening. La Rhumerie is a nice small venue for aperitifs, after dinner rums, liqueurs or cigars. The Sugar Club bar specializes in soft drinks such as fruit juices, coffees and teas, but also provides ice cold beer. There is a live band playing every night and cabaret shows several times a week.

The Sugar Jazz Band performs once a week. The Hotel offers an unlimited range of free land and water sports such as kayaks, unlimited water skiing, aqua gym, giant chess, and badminton. Paying sports include Scuba diving courses, horse riding and big game fishing. Golfers have preferential access to the famous 18 holes championship golf course on Ile aux Cerfs or the "Link" golf course at Belle Mare Plage.

For your personal fitness, the unique Sugar Club offers a health and fitness centre with a fully equipped air-conditioned gym, supervised by professional instructors and a sauna. A hairdressing salon and a beauty centre offer professional services and a full range of treatments.

The "Fun Kids Club" and the "Teen Club" provide all kinds of activities for children from 2 - 18 years. Those encompass age appropriate activities, fun programmes and lots of sports.

RESTAURANT AND BARS: Dining at Sugar Beach Resort is indeed a pleasure. A sumptuous buffet is presented at breakfast, including an enormous variety of freshly baked pastries and delicious breads. Lunch is usually a fairly informal affair, and all the stops are pulled out for dinner. Menus have been thoughtfully composed and tastily prepared, and buffets offer a huge variety of absolutely delicious and interesting options.
